The AthHalf packs all that Athens has to offer into exciting half marathon and 5K courses! The half marathon course includes a run through Athens’ historic districts, downtown, and the UGA campus, with local Athens bands performing live throughout the course. The 5K course starts at the Classic Center Pavilion, runs over to the Firefly Trail for an out and back and returns to the Classic Center Pavilion with a live band at the start and finish line to help you celebrate your accomplishment. Athens residents come out in force to cheer on and entertain runners along the way, adding to the fun energy of these popular events.

The AthHalf is produced annually by the nonprofit organization, AthFest Educates, and race proceeds support our mission of funding high-quality music and arts education programming for local K – 12 youth. When you run the AthHalf, you are directly impacting a child’s access to music and the arts. Thank you!

Calling All Athenians!

As part of our 2025-2027 Strategic Plan, AthFest Educates is focusing on increasing community awareness of our mission, impact, and opportunities. One of our strategies for achieving this goal is gathering perception data via a stakeholder survey. That’s where you come in – how do you think AthFest Educates can better spread the word about its mission? Take our short survey and let us know. Your feedback is completely anonymous, and not only will it help AthFest Educates’ mission – but it will help AthFest Educates become one step closer to ensuring every child in Athens-Clarke County can experience the enriching impact of the arts. Thank you for your participation!
